A Family Business with over 60 Years of Moving Experience!
Welcome to the History of Purdie Worldwide. My Grandfather started Matt Purdie & Sons back in 1960 originally as a Coal Merchant. He supplied the local towns with fuel for their fires with his modest coal truck.
Ever the gentleman, Matt was kind enough to start ferrying furniture on the back of his coal lorry, for those looking to move house or small goods.
The Purdie Worldwide Story
Buying his first Removal Truck in the early 60s, the removal business grew bigger and bigger. Matt Purdie and Sons evolved through a further 2 generations. In 2010 they grew to become BAR Mover of the Year in 2010.
In 2015, as the company developed into a leading Global Logistics Specialist. With regular trips across the continent and further afield. The name was changed in 2015 to Purdie Worldwide to reflect the Dynamic World we now live in.
Although the company changed name after a family buyout in 2015, the local area and community remains a big focus for the business. We help the local community with Gala Days and sponsoring local sports teams and even the Purdie Worldwide Stadium! Regardless of how big we grow, Purdie Worldwide will never forget the local area to which it owes its success.

By offering Professional Services on time, every time, we ensure our High Standards are met in accordance with the British Association of Removers. Our team at Purdie Worldwide is comprised of 90% Local Employees, who are trusted and respected in the local community, in turn reducing any late starts due to everyone living within a 5-mile radius of Purdie HQ.
From time to time we do encounter a few difficult situations such as a sofa too big for a door, however, using our years of experience and utilising our core value of Embrace, Adapt & Success our staff are trained to accept any change in the circumstances of a job, adapt to suit the new specification and ultimately succeed in ensuring the job continues smoothly and to a high standard.
Lastly, but most importantly, the core value that has been with us from the very beginning – Handle with Care…Anywhere!
Helping the Community
At Purdie Worldwide we’ll never forget the local community that helped Purdie Worldwide become what it is today. That’s why we try to help out local teams and individuals that we feel promote the local community spirit with support and sponsorship when we can.
We currently sponsor several of the youth football teams at Blackburn United, supplying them with strips and training kits, all with our Global Logo across the front. As well as being the main first team club sponsor, we also took the opportunity to name the stadium, and as of 2019 Blackburn United play at the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium.
