Braving the Shave for Macmillan Cancer Support
At Purdie Worldwide we’re committed to not only moving and storing, but we’re also committed to helping Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland. That’s why our MD, Neil Purdie, and Head Joiner from Purdie Property Maintenance, Peter Sneddon decided to lose their flowing locks of hair and Brave the Shave as they face the clippers. All with the aim of raising awareness and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On the 29th of November 2 brave men took the plunge “Braving The Shave” in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Up first was head joiner from Purdie Property Maintenance, Peter Sneddon. A huge thanks to Studio 12, East Main Street, Blackburn for not only offering to scalp our poor Peter, but also donating themselves! So a huge thanks to them for fitting us in at short notice and so early in the morning!
Neil on the other hand wasn’t so keen. He’d already managed to get out of doing it first thing, promising he’d be braving the shave after lunch!
He then disappeared for a good few hours until we found him locked in the stationary cupboard clutching a stapler and some sticky tape. Against his will we (physically) dragged him into the front office where we had setup a make-shift salon. In charge of cutting Neil’s fine locks of hair was none other than Ferdi himself from Ferdi’s Turkish Barbers. So a huge thanks to him for temporarily closing his shop so he could come over and let Neil take centre stage in braving the shave.
As a result Peter managed to get a total of £300 donated online. Neil got £370 donated online, and after collecting in our charity boxes from The Crown and Blackburn Bowling Club our total increased to a fantastic £915! You can watch both videos of Peter and Neil getting scalped below.
